what I love, I think, about the conservative boo-hoo of “he’s infringing on our right to bear arms” is..how? How is he infringing? Is he coming to your house and taking your gun? No? Is he having the police do it? No? Okay. So how? By talking about it? Oh no! He uses words. Gosh forbid.
So what do you propose we do to prevent another Sandy Hook? To prevent another Taft Union or Virginia Tech? hmm? “more guns” is the answer? really? …really?
While I will certainly NOT say take your guns away but I will say there does need to be longer waiting periods, even MORE thorough background checks, psychological evaluations, and more money into mental health.
Again,I am NOT saying to take your guns away. Even though I do think it’s silly to own an “assault rifle” (even if no one has a set definition of that–I mean i looked it up, and i found AR-15s and AK-47s and even hunting rifles), no one needs 10 bullets to kill a deer.
I’m also not saying don’t protect your home. What I am saying is that a gun would do the job, wouldn’t it?
At the end of the day, all I want is to start the dialogue. Unfortunately, from the Right, you keep hearing “not now” or “now’s not the time” Well when is? When another Virginia Tech happens? Another Columbine? Another Sandy Hook?
Right me off as an ‘evil’ leftist if you wish; I don’t care. I have not said one word about taking your guns away. I have not said anything but my opinion. The same thing Piers Morgan has done.
